Data uploads
To get accurate asset generation forecasts, you need to provide us with as much historical asset generation data as possible. Tensor Cloud allows you to upload historical generation data yourself in a secure way from the Data uploads page accessible from the Assets section in the main side bar menu.
Uploading historical generation data
Before uploading, you need to make sure that the location ID of your assets is set correctly as Tensor Cloud automatically matches your uploaded data with the right assets for some data types.
You can upload historical generation data by going to Uploads page and clicking on "Upload data" button in right upper corner. You can choose between "Meter" and "Monitoring" data, where the latter will prompt you to choose an asset to which the data belong to. Processing your uploads might take up to 6 hours and the Uploads page will refresh automatically to let you know if the processing was successful.
Processing can either be successful, unsuccessful, or partially successful. If Tensor Cloud was able to read your uploaded data and match it with an asset in your workspace, the file will be marked as Processed. If Tensor Cloud was unable to read your uploaded data or unable match it with any asset in your workspace, the file will be marked as Processing failed. For data types that can contain data for multiple assets (e.g., preliminary meter data), if Tensor Cloud was able to read your uploaded data but only match it with some of the assets in your workspace, the file will be marked as Partially processed.
Note that Tensor Cloud matches your uploaded data with assets based on the location ID. This means that if you upload data for an asset that has a different location ID than the one in the asset settings, Tensor Cloud will not be able to match the data with the asset and the file will be marked as Processing failed or Partially processed.
If processing for a file failed, please first confirm that the location ID in the file matches the one in the asset information, then re-upload the file if needed. You can re-upload files as often as you like without any negative consequences. Tensor Cloud will automatically handle data overlaps and file duplicates.
Uploads in a file format not listed in the table below will be ignored by Tensor Cloud and not show up in your list of uploaded files. Contact Tensor support if you have large amounts of data in a different file format.
Supported data types and file formats
Tensor Cloud supports data types listed in the table below. If you have data in a format that is not listed below, please contact Tensor support.
Data type | File format | Description | Specification |
---|---|---|---|
Confirmed meter data | CSV | This is confirmed meter data acquired through the TSO in each grid area in 30-minute resolution. This data type can only contain data for a single asset in one file. | - |
Preliminary meter data | XML | This is preliminary meter data acquired through the TSO in each grid area in 30-minute resolution. This data type can contain data for multiple assets in one file and thus in some cases can only be partially processed. | OCCTO specifications |
Laplace Systems monitoring data | CSV | Data downloaded from the monitoring system of Laplace Systems at either 1-minute or 30-minute resolution. This data type can contain data for multiple assets in one file and thus in some cases can only be partially processed. | Laplace Systems specifications |
Generic monitoring data | CSV | Generic upload format for monitoring data in 30-minute or 1-minute resolution. | Specification |
