Submitting generation-sales plans
This section provides an overview of how to generate and submit generation-sales plans through Tensor Cloud's balancing interface.
Prerequisites
Before you can submit plans to OCCTO, you must configure the OCCTO API integration in your workspace settings. This integration enables Tensor Cloud to automatically submit plans on your behalf and track submission status.
Plan generation types
Tensor Cloud supports generating the following types of plans for OCCTO submission. Each plan type has its own dedicated tab in the Balancing section:
- Day-ahead plans: Automatically generated based on your latest forecasts and trading positions. Day-ahead plans can be submitted for the next day or for future days. Note that generation forecasts are only produced for 14 days from today's date.
- Weekly plans: Generated based on asset capacity in accordance with OCCTO rules. Weekly plans always start from Saturday of the targeted week.
- Monthly plans: Long-term plans generated based on asset capacity following OCCTO requirements.
- Yearly plans: Annual plans generated based on asset capacity following OCCTO requirements.
Tensor Cloud automatically generates all plans in accordance with OCCTO rules and keeps up to date with regulation changes to ensure that submitted plans remain compliant.
Submission workflow
Plans are automatically generated for all balancing groups in their respective grid area based on confirmed trades and the latest available forecasts.
Selecting plan type and target date
When you open the Balancing screen, you will see tabs for each plan type:
- Day-ahead
- Weekly
- Monthly
- Yearly
Select the tab for the plan type you want to submit, then choose the target date at the top of the screen.
Viewing plans by grid area
After selecting the plan type and target date, the screen displays plans organized by grid area. Only grid areas where you have registered assets will be shown. For each area, you will see:
-
Plan preview:
- Day-ahead plans: Displayed as an interactive chart showing hourly generation and sales values
- Long-term plans (weekly, monthly, yearly): Displayed as a spreadsheet with the plan values
-
Latest submission status: Displayed next to each area name, allowing you to quickly see which plans have been submitted
Submitting the plan
To submit a plan to OCCTO for a specific grid area:
-
Click "Send": After reviewing the plan preview for the area, click the "Send" button. This opens a confirmation screen.
-
Download (optional): From the confirmation screen, you can download the plan file. This allows you to review the plan offline before final submission or import the plan into OCCTO's input tool if needed. Note that at this point, no submission has been made to OCCTO yet - you are still in the confirmation stage.
-
Final confirmation: After reviewing the plan summary on the confirmation screen, click "Send" again to actually submit the plan to OCCTO.
Tracking submission status
After submitting a plan, you can track its progress through the following stages in the sidebar:
- Send: Plan has been sent to OCCTO
- Process: OCCTO is processing the plan
- Accept: OCCTO has accepted the plan
The latest submission status is also displayed next to each area name in the plan list, making it easy to see which areas have successfully submitted plans.
Email notifications
If notifications are enabled in your workspace settings, subscribed users will receive a reminder email if day-ahead OCCTO plans have not been submitted for an area by 7:30am JST.
Fully automated transmission is not yet available.
